When I heard Helen Wilson play at the 2009 RNCM Gold Medal competition I knew immediately that we had to invite her to Rhyl.

We then discussed what ensemble she could bring with her and of the various options we alighted on the flute/harp/viola. I then found out that Robert Guy was the viola player and he was taught piano by a local musician known to many of us, Catherine Barnett.

They are joined by another player from Wales, Elfair Grug. She has won awards for performance including the Main Instrumental prize for under 30 years old at the 2008 Llangollen International

All three are currently studying at RNCM. This instrument combination was not known to me so it should be an interesting evening and we will be hearing music by Debussy and Bax.
