Michael Petrov – cello, Erdem Misirlioglu – piano

Bulgarian born  Michael Petrov was nominated by the Barbican as ECHO Rising Star in 2015 and has performed widely in Europe appearing at major concert halls including the Concertgebouw Amsterdam, Cité de la Musique Paris, Musikverein Vienna, Budapest Palace of Arts, Kölner Philharmonie and the Laeiszhalle Hamburg. Further afield he has given recitals at Carnegie’s Weill Hall and Los Angeles Cello Festival, and toured throughout China.

Erdem Misirlioglu started piano lessons when he was nine. He recently completed his Artist Diploma at the Guildhall School of Music & Drama, studying with Martin Roscoe and Ronan O’Hora, following undergraduate and Master’s studies in performance with first class honours. In 2008 Erdem was a Concerto Finalist in the BBC Young Musicians Competition performing Rachmaninov’s Rhapsody on a Theme of Paganini with the BBC National Orchestra of Wales
