Ivan Guevara – piano, Graham Walker – cello, Harriet Mackenzie – violin
Graham and Ivan started the group in Cambridge and there are now up to 9 performers. Two years ago, Rhyl included a jazz concert as part of the programme and for this season we have Latin American music with 3 performers. They have performed to acclaim in South Africa and if you know the music of the Buena Vista Social Club you will know the style of music to expect.
Graham has come to Rhyl on several occasions, the latest being with Ellis Thomas when they gave us the Rachmaninov Cello Sonata. Graham is also a choral expert and now Director of Music at Emmanuel College, Cambridge. Harriet has come to Rhyl as part of Kosmos but also with pianist Danny Driver. Ivan describes himself as a lawyer with a side-hustle (music) – or is it the other way round?
Classico Latino have now produced 5 CDs. You can check out their music on Spotify, but will have to wait until the night to find out their specific programme.
