Our 2018-19 season finished on a high note with the third in the Beethoven in Wales series of the composer’s violin sonatas, accompanied by a premiere of Hilary Tann’s “First Light” which was specially commissioned for the occasion.
Many thanks to all our patrons and we look forward to an equally eclectic mix of live classical music next season which starts on 2 October. Details are expected to be available in early summer.
Rhyl Music Club plays a major rôle in the cultural life of the North Wales coast through offering live music in a sociable environment at affordable cost.
We stage 12 first class mainly classical concerts which are free to members on alternate Wednesdays from October to March. They provide a platform for some of the most talented musicians in the UK and abroad, many of whom, such as the Kanneh-Mason siblings, are on the cusp of their professional careers.
Our concert venue is the Rhyl Town Hall which, with its excellent acoustic, is an ideal place for the impressive sound of our Bösendorfer Imperial Grand piano.
We also give youngsters with musical potential in North Wales a platform by them taking part in master-classes and at our Young Musicians Concerts. In addition to the concert hall schedule, the club provides support whenever possible to the local community by sponsoring visiting artists to perform and give workshops in schools, hospitals and care homes.
